"Eat a live frog first thing in the morning, and nothing worse will happen to you all day." The frog is the task you'd happily put off forever — and that's exactly the one you tackle first.
Why in the morning?
- Your willpower is at its peak in the morning — by midday, your inner couch potato takes over.
- The shadow disappears: A postponed frog poisons your whole day; an eaten one makes it feel light.
- Momentum: Once you've knocked out the hardest thing, you breeze through the rest.
Finding your frog
Ask yourself in the evening (daily planning): "Which task would I most love NOT to see tomorrow?" — that's the one. Usually important, rarely urgent, a classic Quadrant 2 candidate.
The rules
- Only ONE frog per day (otherwise you'll freeze up).
- The frog first, then email.
- Frog too big? Break it into smaller frogs — the first bite is what counts.
