Every task system decays — unless someone tidies it up regularly. The weekly review is that someone: 15 minutes, a fixed slot, three questions.
The Three Questions
- What happened? Look at your done list and take a moment to celebrate — making progress visible is motivational fuel.
- What's lying around? Every leftover task gets a verdict: reschedule, delegate, or drop it. Nothing stays undecided.
- What matters next week? No more than three weekly goals — the bridge to weekly planning.
Why It's Essential
Without a review, dead entries pile up, your list loses credibility, and you stop trusting it — the beginning of the end for any system (something GTD knows well, where the review is sacred).
The Trick
Pair it with something enjoyable: a Sunday coffee, your favorite playlist. A ritual you look forward to is one that survives.
